The Upper Kern River is the best road-accessible one-day trip in California. There are multiple stretches of whitewater trips on the Upper Kern, which makes it suitable for just about everyone because we can pick and choose the perfect run for your group. There's everything from class III to class V on the Upper Kern.

 

Snow-melt feeds the Upper Kern so, unlike the Lower Kern which is solely dam-release, the length of the Upper season depends on snow-pack and weather. Because the flows are not regulated, the Upper Kern is almost always at a different water level which makes it a different experience each time you go!
